Cable Protectors

For cable protection in environments where failure carries serious consequences, the HCL Smart Protector Series is the system of choice across the oil and gas, subsea, and telecommunications industries. The five-tier range — 100 through 500 Type — covers the full spectrum of cable diameter, clamping load, and environmental severity, from light-duty electrical conduit routing through to the extreme conditions encountered in downhole ESP and fibreoptic cable attachment and the securing of ICCP and instrumentation cables on offshore structures. Material selection is central to performance in these applications: PPS, PK, PA66, and PA12 polymer grades each offer a specific combination of chemical inertness, thermal stability, and mechanical strength, allowing the correct protector to be specified for the fluid, temperature, and pressure envelope of the installation rather than defaulting to a single material across all zones. All grades are fully non-conductive — a non-negotiable requirement in cathodic protection systems and sensitive electronics environments — and the clamping geometry is designed to secure without damaging cable sheathing under sustained vibration and thermal cycling. Equally applicable to marine and offshore topsides installations as to onshore industrial and telecommunications infrastructure where long-term cable integrity is a maintenance and safety requirement.
