Constant Tension Heavy Duty Clamps

Standard fixed-torque clamps are calibrated for one condition — the temperature at which they're installed. In any application where hose diameter changes as the system heats and cools, that fixed setting becomes either too loose on the cold cycle or over-compressed on the hot one. Constant tension clamps eliminate this problem entirely by incorporating a spring element into the band or housing that continuously compensates for thermal expansion and contraction, maintaining consistent sealing force regardless of operating temperature. The two ranges we carry — Tridon's constant tension series and the Mikalor Supra — are both engineered for the most severe end of the thermal cycling spectrum: heavy-duty diesel and commercial engine coolant and charge air connections where peak temperatures, sustained vibration, and hose fatigue combine to make blow-off a real operational risk. Manufactured from high-grade stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance in wet, hot, and chemically active under-bonnet environments, these clamps are also widely specified in HVAC ducting and industrial process pipework wherever thermal movement is a design consideration rather than an edge case.
