Returns Policy
Items purchased for personal use.
We accept returns from non-business customers or consumers where items are purchased for personal use. The following conditions apply:
- There is a 30 day cancellation period starting the day you receive your goods.
- Your goods must be returned within 14 days after you notify us in writing that you would like to return the item/s.
- When we are notified, we will provide you with a returns reference, this must be quoted with the return along with the order number.
- The cost of the return postage is the responsibility of the customer. If the return postage is at our expense, then this amount will be deducted from the refund if the return is accepted.
- HCL recommends using a tracked/courier delivery service, the goods are the customers responsibility until they reach HCL, we cannot be held liable for goods lost or damaged in transit.
- The goods must arrive to us in resaleable condition and in the same condition as supplied to the customer. If the goods show signs of wear such as, being covered in grease or oil, damage to threads, damage to drive or heads etc, then unfortunately we cannot accept the return. We also cannot accept the return of part boxes or part sachets.
- After we inspect the return, if the goods are deemed to be unsaleable, the return will be rejected, and the customer will be notified in writing. The customer can then decide if they would like to collect the goods at the customers expense, or if we should dispose of the goods.
- Returns are processed as quickly as possible, if the customers return is accepted then they will be notified in writing. The refund will then be made within 14 days after receiving the goods. The refund agreed will be transferred to the payment method used to purchase the goods. No refund for cost of delivery upgrades or postage and packaging fees for part returns.
- If goods are returned outside of the 14-day window then the customer will be notified in writing and they will need to decide whether the goods should be disposed of or prepared with collection at the customers expense.
Items purchased for commercial use or resale (Businesses)
For any Items purchased for commercial use or resale by businesses the following conditions apply:
- Orders cannot be cancelled or amended once the order has been submitted. However, if the order processing has not begun then at our discretion, we can amend an order.
- If we accept a cancellation/return, there is a 20% restocking fee. The initial delivery charges will not be refunded.
- The cost of the return postage is the responsibility of the customer. If the return postage is at our expense, then this amount will be deducted from the refund if the return is accepted.
- HCL recommends using a tracked/courier delivery service, the goods are the customers responsibility until they reach HCL, we cannot be held liable for goods lost or damaged in transit.
- If an order is returned without prior written agreement, then the customer will be contacted in writing by email. In this case the goods will either be disposed of or prepared for collection by the customer at the customer’s expense.
Damaged, lost, incorrect or defective goods
If a parcel has been lost in transit, damage has occurred during the delivery process, is incorrect or the goods are defective then please accept our apologies.

Refused or undeliverable orders
If your goods are returned to HCL Fasteners Ltd due to an incorrect delivery address provided by the customer, failure to collect the goods a post office or collection depot, then a charge for re-delivery will incur. This charge will be the cost of re-delivery. The customer will be contacted by email if a delivery has been returned to us in these circumstances.
Returning items by post
When returning any items to us please ship via courier, carefully repackage the goods and make sure to include a copy of the delivery note along with your returns reference.
